Kids' Crossing Playground 2013

We have exciting news to share with you about the Kids' Crossing Fort Pierce Playground project. Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind, community-built, corporate and community funded playground in the center of Fort Piece that promotes active play, stimulates imagination, and is accessible to all children, regardless of ability. The playground will be constructed with specialized materials, which will have a life span of up to 50 years. We would like to share this incredible opportunity to discuss with your business as an ideal way to build community goodwill through a sponsorship.

Although the playground is going to be located on property made available to us by the City of Fort Pierce, the city is not directly involved with the fundraising for the playground; we are a separate entity. The Kids' Crossing Playground Steering Committee is committed to building an exciting new venue for childhood entertainment, exercise, and education right here in Fort Pierce. The committee is formed exclusively of volunteers, and therefore, 100% of all fundraising dollars go directly toward the playground project.

We have chosen to work with the professional design firm, Leathers & Associates, who specialize in custom-design community-built projects. Leathers has been in business since 1971 and designed more than 2,000 similar projects throughout the US and seven foreign countries, including the existing playground that was built in 1993.

Together, our goal is to build a unique 19,000 square-foot playground in Fort Pierce, near the intersection of 23rd street and Virginia Avenue. The playground will be built by hundreds of volunteers from the community in October 2013. Building the playground with free volunteer labor will save over 25% of the cost compared to a manufactured installed playground. This means every dollar will buy much more fun for the children of our community and all those who visit the playground! The total budget for the playground is $200,000, and fundraising started in January 2013. We need the assistance of major corporate sponsors to complete our funding needs and make this dream a reality.
